The fNIRS 2026 Scientific Excellence Awards recognize excellent contributions to the conference program by trainees. Awards will be given for outstanding work presented as posters and oral presentations, and through a Women in Science category. Awardees are selected by the Program Committee.

Award categories
Awards will be given to trainees in the following categories:
- Poster presentation
- Oral presentations
- Women in Science
Terms of the award
Eligibility
- The candidate must be undergraduate students, graduate students, or postdoctoral fellows.
- The candidate must be a member of the Society for fNIRS.
Submission
- The candidate must submit one or more abstracts as a lead author.
- The abstract must be accepted into the fNIRS 2026 program.
