The Brain-Body Platform: Native Multi-Modal Integration – Synchronizing EEG,* fNIRS, and Full-Body Physio with AcqKnowledge software.
Instructors: Marion Vincent,
About this course
Incorporating systemic physiology is essential for isolating pure neural responses from physiological noise that often contaminate fNIRS and EEG signals. Accounting for these parameters is key to ensuring the precision and reproducibility of research findings.
However, multimodal research often suffers from “fragmented data syndrome,” where fNIRS, EEG, and systemic physiology are captured on disparate systems, leading to alignment errors and cumbersome post-processing.
We will demonstrate a comprehensive Brain-Body Platform, showcasing how easy it is to achieve seamless, real-time synchronization between fNIRS, EEG, and a vast array of physiological sensors. Using AcqKnowledge software as the central hub, we will perform a Live Demo to illustrate how high-density multimodal setups can be managed effortlessly.
We will demonstrate the complete workflow in AcqKnowledge, from real-time data checking to automated post-processing.
What will you learn?
- Optimal Signal Quality: Practical tips to ensure the best signal quality and sensor contact before starting your experiment.
- Multimodal Integration: How to easily manage and synchronize multiple neurophysiological data streams (fNIRS, EEG, and physio) within the unified AcqKnowledge software.
- Real-time Monitoring: Techniques for checking signal quality across different sensors simultaneously during live data acquisition.
- From Acquisition to Analysis: How to use the automated, integrated functions within AcqKnowledge to process your data.

Why should you enroll in this course?
This course addresses the difficulty of aligning multiple data streams that are often recorded on separate, unsynchronized systems.
The session aims to provide a practical introduction to unified data management by:
- Demonstrating how to easily manage a modular multimodal neurophysiological setup within the single AcqKnowledge software environment
- Providing an introduction to the workflow moving from live data acquisition to the automated post-processing power of AcqKnowledge.
