SfNIRS Community Award

First given during fNIRS 2022 in Boston, the SfNIRS Community Award honors outstanding service to the fNIRS community. Service may include, but is not limited to, education and training, standardization of equipment, software, or data practices, organizing community events, and other contributions that advance the Society and its mission. The award includes a certificate and a cash prize.

Important, nominations with an incomplete package will not be considered.

Terms of the award

  • The candidate must be a member of the Society for fNIRS.
  • The candidate must provide evidence of sustained activity in fNIRS research.
  • A candidate who is unsuccessful in any given year may be re nominated in a subsequent year, provided the candidate meets the award criteria in the year of nomination.

Nomination requirements

Members of the Society may nominate candidates or nominate themselves. There is no age restriction for this award.

A complete nomination package must include:

  • A nomination letter stating the reasons the candidate should receive this award.
  • A curriculum vitae of maximum 2 pages.
  • A list of publications.
  • Additional letters of support are allowed.

Important, nominations with an incomplete package will not be considered.
